Calling all ladies! On Saturday, April 14th, we will be having a ladies’ potluck fellowship at the Elliott/Wagatsuma home. In addition to a time of fellowship, we will also be using this as a ministry opportunity. As many of you know, we have been in contact with the Long Term Care facility of Wahiawa General Hospital, asking about their residents and needs. To that end, we will begin working on a project to sew lap blankets for the residents, especially those in wheelchairs. Here’s some pertinent information for both the fellowship and ministry outreach.
When: Saturday, April 14th at 10:30 a.m. at the Elliott/Wagatsuma home.
What: We will be having a ladies’ fellowship potluck lunch and then work on our projects.
How you can help: Bring material to cut for the blankets. (Finished blanket size should be 36×45 inches.) 1 1/2 yards of fabric per blanket is sufficient. The material should either be something warm such as a heavier fleece, or you can bring cotton fabric with a warmer material (such as a lighter fleece) to use as a backing.
If you are handy with the sewing machine, please feel free to take blankets home to sew or bring your machine to the fellowship.
Bring your scissors. We welcome all cutters!
Pray for our ladies and our ministry. Anyone can do this!
Please note, this is intended to be an outreach program, not a burden to any of our members. All ladies are welcome to the fellowship whether you are able to participate in the project or not. We would welcome your prayers. 🙂 If you have any other questions, please see Jessica or Kathy.
